Australia has won the first ever day-night test match being held at Adelaide. In a low scoring match, Australia held its nerves and edged out a narrow three-wicket win in just 3 days.

Shaun Marsh guided the run chase with a hard fought 49. Chasing a target of 187 Australia were set back by fall of three early wickets. Shaun Marsh then put on 49 with Adam Voges and 46 with his brother Mitchell Marsh.

With just 26 short of the target, Michelle Marsh was dismissed trying to hit Santner for six and Trent Boult followed it with the dismissal of Shaun Marsh. This made for a tense finish, but Peter Siddle and Mitchell Starc ensured Australia reached home without any more incidents.

Josh Hazlewood was named Man of the Match for his nine wickets in the match and a career-best 6 for 70. The match crowd of 123,736 was an all-time Adelaide Oval record for a non-Ashes Test.
