Barkha Dutt, well known for her coverage of Kargil War from the battlefront, was fighting a different battle of her own during all these years. In her new book “This Unquiet Land – Stories from India’s Fault Lines” apart from sharing what she experienced as a journalist travelling all over India, she also talks about her experience of being sexually abused as a child by a distant relative and being in a violent relationship as an adult.
In an excerpt from her book which is also published on NDTV website, she writes, “as a child unable to process the magnitude of what had happened – I was the one who felt grotesque and dirty.”
Not too long ago we witnessed the whole nation rising up and demanding justice for Nirbhaya. But unfortunately, in a post-Nirbhaya India, we are still getting reports of a new crime against women and children being committed all over the country.
The book is available at all leading bookstores and online at Amazon and Flipkart.
